David Burkhead

Since earning his law degree in 1995, David has represented individuals and corporate clients, both as plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of legal disputes, including nursing home abuse, personal injury, medical malpractice, commercial, construction, real estate, employment, contract, products liability, criminal, domestic, trademark infringement and health care.

For over 15 years, the focus of David’s practice has been nursing home cases, first defending long term care facilities and now representing families against nursing homes for issues in care and treatment, including: bed sores, infections, falls, prescription errors, abuse, assault and elopements.

A life-long resident of the Kansas City area, David received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas. As an undergraduate, he served as president of the Kansas chapter of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. In law school, David was elected Articles Editor of The University of Kansas Law Review.

He is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri and is also admitted to practice before the federal courts of the District of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri. David is an active member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (where he has served as president of the Solo and Small Firm Section and as vice chairman of the Nursing Home Negligence Subcommittee), the Johnson County Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association.

David lives in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife and two children .
